Listening to patients and members of the public

To capture the views of patients and members of the public we have set up a Participation Action Network Group (PAN) to help ensure the views of groups with protected characteristics under the Equality Act, are represented and that these views feed into our commissioning plans and priorities. The aim of PAN is to identify opportunities for closer working, maximising the channels and assets that already exist in the local community. The emphasis on ‘action’ reflects our commitment to work together and to share actions, acknowledging the skills and expert knowledge members bring and the valuable contribution they can make directly to the work of PAN. The network is still developing but feedback so far has been positive. As part of our next steps we will be setting our work plan and agreeing our objectives and outcomes for the next six months.

Since we formed in 2013, we have really strengthened our approach to patient engagement. We now have a virtual group, which is open to everyone, and more than 400 local people have already joined up. We regularly contact members of our sign up group with project updates and involvement opportunities.

There are plenty of opportunities for you to help us plan and buy local healthcare – whether that is through surveys, attending meetings and workshops, or by directly supporting one of our project groups – to make sure patients are at the heart of what we do.

Every year we also ask some of our key stakeholder to tell us how they feel we work as an organisation and how we engage with them. We do this by asking them to take part in our 360 degree stakeholder survey, which forms part of our annual NHS England assurance process. You can read the findings of our 2017 360 degree survey here.

Read more about how we are engaging and involving local people, available within our Annual Report.

CCG 360 Degree Stakeholder Survey Report

We are very pleased to publish document this (1.12 MB) report. The annual CCG 360 Degree Stakeholder Survey, run by Ipsos MORI on behalf of NHS England, has been conducted since 2013/14. It enables stakeholders to provide feedback about their CCGs. The results of the survey serve two purposes:

They provide CCGs with insight into key areas for improvements in their relationships with stakeholders and provide information on how stakeholders’ views have changed over time.

They contribute towards NHS England’s statutory responsibility to conduct an annual assessment of each CCG, through the CCG Improvement and Assessment Framework.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our stakeholders for taking the time to complete this survey. We really do value your feedback. As in previous years, the results will inform our ongoing organisational development and how we develop our relationships with stakeholders in our Integrated Care Partnership and across Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System.
