The Referral Support Service supports each patient following a GP referral right up to the their first outpatient appointment. We aim to improve patient choice by offering appointments at a number of locations and a range of dates and times.

The RSS uses the electronic referral system "E-referral Service" to review your GP referral letters, our team triages to find the best local treatment options for each patient, and our administrative team are at the end of the phone to assist with any queries from GPs and patients.

Because we keep an eye on all the services available and waiting times, we can offer our patients tailored, local care without them having to go to hospital. We talk directly to patients about appointments, enabling Surrey Downs GPs to spend more of their time on their clinical priorities.

Please note that referrals are made by a patient’s GP or clinician, self-referral is not available, and the RSS pdf does not cover all conditions (288 KB) .
